Tibetan Potala Halal Restaurant in Myeongdong Seoul

Tibetan Potala restaurant in Seoul

I found amazing vegetarian lunch at Potala Palace along Myeongdong Street. This is awesome stuff!! Sorry, we were so hungry I forgot to take photos of the rest of the dishes. Potala Palace is a Tibetan restaurant which serves Tibetan and Nepalese food. And YES, there are good options of vegetarian dishes here and they are willing to prepare vegetarian dishes for the set meals.

I will be sharing a halal Indian / Tibetan restaurant around Myeongdong, Seoul. The restaurant name is Potala. The story is going to Saffron restaurant in Ibis Myeongdong hotel, it turns out the food there enough to drain the contents of the bag. Finally to Potala because near the hotel where to stay.

This Potala restaurant is included on Korea Tourism's official website as well (http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/ATR/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=1833198) please check on the web how to get there.

I ate Thali Set 1, the price of 10,000 won included tax. It contained thali, chicken tikka 3 small pieces, chicken curry, yogurt salad, kimchi, pickled onion / onion and pickled cucumber.

I think it's delicious and very full. Drinking water can be free. Yesterday was given black tea too, less know what is included in the menu or compliment as well.

Black tea is delicious, a little sweet and there is the aroma of cinnamon. The Thali Set 1 menu is only available from 11 to 4 pm. There's a vegetarian version too. If the regular set menu for one person is 16,000 won, there are also menus for two people (30,000 won), three (45,000 won), four (from 60,000 won).

All meat in this restaurant is kosher/halal. Food at this restaurant is also suitable for vegetarians, almost every menu I see there is a version of meat and vegetarian version.

There is a place of prayer here, ablution in the toilet.

Potala, Restaurant muslim in Korea

Potala is owned by a Tibetan citizen, no wonder if this restaurant offers Himalayan and Indian flavors. In addition, Nepalese cuisine can also be enjoyed to treat your hunger.

Although the menu is not written that the food provided in Potala is a halal dish, but they are committed to serving and cooking all these foods with guidelines that are in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

If you visit Potala, there are some menu that must be tried like Sha Bhakle, Samosa Chat, Curry, Naan and Lassi. The unique drink you can try is Chang or Tibetan Rice Beer. It feels like Makkoli which is a similar Korean drink.

There are two Potala restaurants in Seoul. The first one is in B1, 35-2 Gwangcheol-dong, Jongno-gu. The second one is in Myeongdong 2-ga, Jung-gu. You can choose one as a halal culinary alternative in South Korea.
