Best Ways How to Catch and Attract Fish in a Lake to Your Bait

How to attract fish to your bait

Probably one of the best videos taken to date that shows exactly how eating lake trouts will act, as the bait falls you see the  full arch that the lake trout creates, once that fish starts coming beyond the deep water the main mistake people make is they wait to long to start retrieving.

In this video you can see that once the bait is about 10ft above that fish the reeling cadence starts to take place, within seconds that fish sky rockets up and crushed the swimbait with no hesitation, with the prey having no where to go the lake trout just can’t resist a nice juicy @impact_baits swimbait fleeing away!!

Give yourself that little bit of gap on the screen and believe me when that fish wants to eat IT WILL EAT. Hopefully this little tackle tip with get more fish in your boat 🤙 —> LOCATION; LAKE SIMCOE, Ontario, Canada

Before that, my friends do the same in Utah but have a lot of fish chase and not hit. In addition, They are using7inch tubes fish run anywhere from 8 to 40.

Damn there’s gotta be something why they aren’t hitting, maybe try reeling in slower? Or use smaller baits? Lake trout up here are average 15lbs + so we’re using 5inch swimbaits and that does the trick!! try downsizing sometimes the bait depending on time of year is smaller and they are feeding on that smaller profile so when they see that large profile it turns them off!! Hope this helps.

I set my back unit to “ice fishing mode”. It works great, and always fish off the right side of the boat to, the sonar beam is strongest on the right side so u should be able to see it like u would be ice fishing. You can access this by heading to sonar options, clicking installation and then clicking “mode” and it’ll give you a list of modes. after I set that I jack my sensitivity up but incrementally as I do that I decline the colour line as well until I find a good reading on the graph!!

Just remember, There is no set time for when you should reel away from the fish. They’re not always gunna be in the same mood, day to day lake to lake and fish to fish. Some days you don’t even have to drop the bait more than 10 ft down in 100 ft and they’re coming up for it. If the fish wants to eat it will. Anywhere in the water column it wont matter.
