A very valuable experience if we are brave and determined with what is in front of us. Maybe this is just tips for anyone who wants to drive by himself from KL to Singapore (which he says is the most horror country).
- If you want to self drive to Singapore via KL, is it possible? The answer is able and very able. But don't ask how much the rent is. Then if you can, don't be alone, tired of being 350 km by yourself.
- What are the car requirements for Singapore entry? According to my understanding, it is very possible for Malaysian cars to enter Singapore.
But for other than Malaysia cars there are additional documents (such as vehicle passports, taxes etc.).
If the Malaysian car wants to Singapore, just go in with the condition that 1) Passport of all passengers, 2) has an autopass. What is autopass? Autopass is a type of vehicle permit that will enter Singapore, such as etoll, can pay for parking, meals and shopping.
Then if you don't have autopass? Asked the car rental party, if the vehicle had entered Singapore there must have been an autopass, because 1 autopass for one vehicle (that kind of car visa). If you have never been in Singapore, you have to prepare :
- Road tax is active (photo of the front part of the windshield in the right corner, where there is a validity period)
- Insurance company (just name only, ask the car rental company, where the car is insured)
- Vehicle sijil (vehicle owner's letter) (enough in the photo)
- Surat kebenaran (just in case)
- SGD 20 for autopass (there is already a SGD 14 balance) must be cash, no credit card or debit card.
Yes, it's just this ... how do you do it?
Just go to The Custom Singapore in The Woodlands or Tuas (if The Tuas I still doesn't know, because I have never passed) but if in The Woodlands go straight to Singapore immigration to stamp your passport, usually we will be ordered to go down all over and ask to open the back seat. (warning : don't bring items that are prohibited like cigarettes etc.), after that go directly to immigration to stamp your passport.
If you have been going back and forth to Singapore, you will be immediately allowed to enter, but if you first time wait for your fingerprints and your passport will be carried in the next room (a little straight after checking your passport and later there will be immigration to get you there, don't be afraid).
After in immigration, there are usually various types of questions, but it turns out that I am only the general like : where do I live, workers or students, where to work, where to study, how many days in Singapore, where do you stay, how much money (show all Singapore dollars, rupiahs, or ringgit).
